Reaction of allenyl esters with sodium azide: An efficient synthesis of E-vinyl azides and polysubstituted pyrroles

The nucleophilic addition of sodium azide to 1,2-allenyl esters has produced vinyl azides with very good regio- and stereoselectivities. A new method is developed for the synthesis of pyrroles from 1-allylic allenyl esters through a series of consecutive transformations.
