Effect of cantilever nonlinearity in nanoscale tensile testing

Abstract

Atomic force microscope cantilevers as force-sensing elements in the nanoscale tensile testing analysis on templated carbon nanotubes inside a scanning electron microscope in a general research of cantilever beam nonlinearity under different loading conditions with analytical and finite element analysis is done. It is observed that the cantilever nonlinearity increased with increasing cantilever deflection and/or angle of loading.
