Abstract

Big V Supermarkets Inc. is embarking on an all-out promotional scheme designed to counterattack the marketing tactics of newer chain stores from both inside and outside the supermarket industry. The Orange County, NY-based store is currently at the mercy of bigger supermarket chains such as Wal-Mart and Kmart. As part of its scheme, Big V is pushing its nonfoods sector through a strong pricing and display plan.
