Independent wind rush

Canada's huge wind energy potential and favorable government incentives are making wind energy a viable and competitive source of electricity in the country. The Canada Center for Mineral and Energy Technology projects a market potential of 985 MW of wind capacity by the year 2004, mainly in Quebec and Newfoundland. However, numerous wind energy projects are currently being pursued in other provinces, most notably Alberta, where three wind farms are now operating.
