Abstract

Canada's huge wind energy potential and favorable government incentives are making wind energy a viable and competitive source of electricity in the country. The Canada Center for Mineral and Energy Technology projects a market potential of 985 MW of wind capacity by the year 2004, mainly in Quebec and Newfoundland.
