Abstract
- The interaction of bis(pentafluorophenyl)mercury or trimeric perfluoro-o-phenylene mercury with selected arenes (naphthalene, biphenyl, and fluorene) was investigated. It was shown that cooperative effects are involved in the spin-orbit perturbation that perfluoro-o-phenylene mercury provides to arenes and bis(pentafluorophenyl)mecury readily assembles with arenes to form room-temperature phosphorescent supramolecules with short triplet lifetimes.
