2008 R&D budget holds no surprises

The U.S. President George W. Bush presented the research and development (R&D) budget for fiscal 2008 on 5 February, 2007, requesting for a rise in funding for the same agencies as the previous year and similarly reductions in the R&D fundings for the same agencies as the previous year again. The budget provides no new science initiative to enhance the physical science research and science education under the American Competitiveness Initiative.
