Cyberactivism and political empowerment in civil society: A comparative analysis of Korean cases

A comparative analysis of the characteristics of cyberactivism is carried out by using the cases of Citizens' Alliance for the 2000 General Election and Nosamo Gathering of People Who Love Roh Moo-hyun. The success of both movements brightens future prospects regarding political effectiveness and the responsiveness of social movements and influenced institutionalization of citizens-centered politics, an establishment of a system requiring the release of candidates' profile.
