Abstract
- Picosecond pump-probe methods help analyze Raman scattering from excited electronic states of Zn(II)octaethylporphyrin. The S1 state reveals weak Jahn-Teller distortion whereas the T1 state reveals strong Jahn-Teller distortion. Observation of different Jahn-Teller distortions implies that excited states of metalloporphyrins exhibit different spin multiplicities.
