Project budgeting for buildings

A new approach for budgeting building construction projects is presented as an alternative to the traditional cost per gross square foot basis. The new method calls for the preparation of a complete budget based on the design program data, criteria, design parameters and quality standards set by the project's principal. It is shown that this budgeting technique is significantly more effective in terms of cost control.
