How to isolate effects of spin-flip scattering on giant magnetoresistance in magnetic multilayers (invited)

The current flow perpendicular to the layer plane magnetoresistance (MR) of magnetic multilayers enables the isolation of finite spin diffusion length effects. These effects are exhibited in multilayers which have alloys such as Ag and Cu with Mn as an impurity. The data obtained from the investigation of AgMn indicate the presence of negative linear MR lines.
