Abstract
- Ribulose-biphosphate carboxylase gene sequences provide data on the evolutionary lineages of leptosporangiate ferns. The data reveal the close association between Salvinia and Marsilea water ferns and the monophyletic characteristics of the fern trees. The polypodioids are related to the gleichenioids and similar to indusiate and exindusiate ferns.
