Abstract
- The effect of herbivorous, carnivorous and mixed feeding on growth, digestive enzyme activity, survival and biochemical composition of Penaeus japonicus larvae and postlarvae are analyzed. Mixed diet feeding has more influence on larval growth than other types of feeding. The feeding differences affect trypsin activity. Optimal assimilation of the plankton component of the diet involves the ingestion of algae.
