Abstract

US service technicians believe that the average consumer of the 1990s has limited knowledge of automobile maintenance and repair. The Second Annual Poll of the American Mechanic conducted by Valvoline Oil Co., in conjunction with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, revealed that 84% of technicians feel owners will not have an easy time maintaining their cars.
