Abstract

Studies of two quilts with different thermal insulation properties reveal that quilts with a thicker lower half may cause a quicker fall in rectal temperature. The same quilt also maintains the temperature at lower level during the experimental period. The changes may be due to lower thermal insulation in the upper half of the quilt and resultant core-peripheral blood redistribution in the lower extremities.
