Abstract
- The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1995 cuts the Department of Defense budget too sharply, according to Sen Trent Lott of Mississippi and Rep Bob Stump of Arizona. These Republicans and others, including Sen John McCain of Arizona and Bob Smith of New Hampshire, expressed critical minority opinions of Clinton's Bottom-Up Review process, the future of the US missile defense program, the readiness of US combat troops and the relationship between US and UN forces.<br />Among the least read or noticed documents in all of Washington's paper blizzard are the Minority Views and statements contained in congressional bill reports.
