Abstract
- A study of the mechanism of the gas-phase OH initiated oxidation of glycoaldehyde in the 233-296 K temperature range using a turbulent flow reactor coupled with a chemical ionization mass spectrometer is presented. Formaldehyde, C[O.sub.2], formic acid and glyoxal were observed at RT with the yields of 80, 34, 18 and 14% respectively, in the presence of oxygen and decrease of temperature to 233K led to significant change in the yields of stable products.
