Abstract
- The use of a downhole splitter allows oil well drillers to drill two cased wells from one well bore. The downhole splitter can be used for subsea completions, offshore platforms, offshore exploitation and delineation wells, as well as in environmentally sensitive onshore areas. The downhole splitter system was developed in Apr 1992 and tested in Wyoming.
