Abstract

Israel's Third Aliya, a wave of immigration between 1919-23, has been commemorated with a stamp bearing a representation of the S.S. Roslan, which was used to transport Jewish immigrants. The theme of the stamp honoring the Fourth Aliya, which began in 1924, is the construction of cities.<br />The waves of Jewish immigration to Israel, known by their Hebrew name Aliyot (plural for Aliya), are regarded as having begun in 1882.
