Abstract
- Education programs that create an awareness in children about sexual abuse influence the effectiveness of interventions that prevent child sexual abuse and abduction. Identification of risk factors for sexual abuse leads to the development of more specific interventions. However, the responsibility for prevention of sexual abuse should not be shifted to the children. Preventive strategies should also aim at preventing adults from becoming perpetrators.
