Abstract

A truer understanding of global cultures may be formed by the study of cultural objects from the standpoints of the subjective centers of the objects themselves. Such a study involves reflection over the images conveyed by cultural experiences uninfluenced by one's own intellectual posturings and ethnic leanings. Several ethnographic field research experiences encountered in Afghanistan are analyzed to illustrate a fresh approach to research in cultural anthropology.
