Optical damage in x-cut proton exchanged LiNb[O.sub.3] planar waveguides

Abstract: The optical damage of different proton exchanged LiNb[O.sub.3] planar waveguides is studied by measuring the intensity output of a single beam as a function of the intensity input. The role of the different effects is discussed together with the electro-optic properties of the different guides.
