Abstract

Homochiral trialkanolamine ligands, present in early transition metal complexes, exhibit characteristic features of enantioselective catalysis. Trialkanolamines enable synthesis in enantiopure form and generate thermally- strong tetradentate complexes with early transition metals. Trialkanolamines form a highly-asymmetric environment near transition metals. The three similar O-C-H hydrogen atoms allow chirality initiation in the coordination sphere of the metal.
