Abstract

Controversy surrounds new science GCSEs, both in terms of content and how they are assessed. Both AQA and Edexcel are introducing courses as multiple-choice exams with a coursework element and under Edexcel, pupils can gain two GCSEs on the basis of multiple choice and internal assessment.
