Abstract
- The excitation relaxation dynamics of dimethylanthracene (DMA) in aqueous solutions in the presence of [alpha]-, [beta]-, and [gamma]-CDs was studied and it was found that there are both hydrated and anhydrated species of DMA in the [alpha]- and [gamma]-CD nanocavities. The structure of anhydrated (DMA)2-([gamma]-CD)2 is configured from the [(sup.1).B.sub.b] exciton splitting observed in the fluorescence excitation spectrum with the help of LJ + Coulombic potential calculations.
