Abstract
- A water-soluble organometallic oxide, Ch3ReO3, catalyzed the reaction between bromide ions and hydrogen peroxide in aqueous acidic solutions. This rhenium catalyst exhibited similar catalytic activities to the enzyme vanadium bromoperoxidase. Peroxide activation included the binding of bromide ions to the rhenium compound during its nucleophilic attack on peroxide ions.
