Abstract

Islamic economics is an intellectual and economic enterprise, and its central claim is that Islam provides an all-encompassing model for social, economic, and political life. It is a modern movement, which asserts that Islamic traditions of law and organization provide a more just and equitable model for economic growth than do the rival systems of Western capitalism and socialism.
