Expenditures of accommodations tax revenue: A South Carolina study

A study evaluates how small communities and rural counties across the State of South Carolina spend funds raised by accommodation taxes paid by nonresident visitors. Results suggest that these entities focus their tourism dollar expenditures toward 'motivational' endeavors such as cultural festivals and tourism-related special events in order to enable further tourism growth.
