Ultrafast all-optical code-division multiple-access (CDMA) fiber-optic networks

Synchronous code-division multiple-access (S/CDMA) scheme was proposed as a viable multiple-access scheme for fiber-optic local area networks. S/CDMA appears to be a more favorable scheme because it can accommodate a greater number of simultanous users compared to the code-division multiple-access scheme. In addition, the S/CDMA can also be efficiently used in conjunction with the time-division multiple-access scheme on multi-media communication networks.
