Abstract
- The aging Brown Norway (BN) rat, which exhibits primary and secondary testicular failure but not reduced gonadotropin levels following steroid or prolactin secretion, is ideal to study male reproductive aging. This method of study will overcome the problems of progesterone secretion in male F344 rats, normally used to study male aging. The BN rats do not exhibit age-related increases in progesterone and estradiol.
