Abstract
- Dives with the submersible Alvin revealed swarms of a pardaliscid amphipod at around 2520 and 2580 m depth in the East Pacific Rise vent field. Thin-layered shoals and scattered individuals were evident. Swarms were observed in relation to clams, mussels and tubeworms, and were situated over and just downstream to cracks with emerging hydrothermal water.
