Abstract

The phenomenon of sodium tetrakis[3,5-bis(trifloromethyl)phenyl]borate dihydrate providing one proton source to start the polymerization of vinyl ethers in anhydrous dichloromethane solutions is explored. It is observed that NaB[[Ar.sup.F].sub.4] catalyzed efficiently in polymerization of activated styrenes, such as p-methoxystyrene.
