Abstract: A strong evidence for an association between schizophrenia and the gene of the key Glutathione (GSH)-synthesizing enzyme, glutamate cysteine ligase modifier (GCLM) subunit is presented. It is observed that GSH metabolism dysfunction is proposed as one of the vulnerability factors for schizophrenia.
