Abstract

Questions about race, sex and social inequality in US higher education have been raised by the alleged rape of a black female student by white athletes at Duke University. Law yers for the students claim DNA tests prove that their clients are innocent and the scandal has crossed into examinations of snap judgements and assumptions about white men.
