Abstract

The differences in customs and culture among Far East Asian nations are forcing foreign suppliers of international electronic data interchange (EDI) technology to modify their implementation strategies for such products. Language barriers, for instance, poses a serious challenge to EDI software vendors as most database packages are encoded in English.
