Abstract
- The differences in customs and culture among Far East Asian nations are forcing foreign suppliers of international electronic data interchange (EDI) technology to modify their implementation strategies for such products. Language barriers, for instance, poses a serious challenge to EDI software vendors as most database packages are encoded in English. In addition, the governments of many Asian nations are imposing EDI standards which are very different from those implemented in the US.<br />Take a look at the 'Made In ...' tags and labels on many goods, and you'll find that the items have probably been manufactured somewhere in the Far East.
