Texans jump on the brewpub bandwagon

Abstract

Texas has legalized brewpubs, or restaurants that brew beer, and this type of restaurant continues to grow in number across the US. In 1985 there were eight brewpubs, and this number has grown to 241 in Jan 1994. The first brewpub, the Yegua Creek Brewing Co, in Dallas, Tx, claims that their beer sales represent about 60% of their total business. The Rock Bottom Brewery, in Minneapolis, reports that checks average $10 to $12 for lunch for the 350-seat restaurant.<br />DALLAS -- Texas restaurateurs are hopping on the hops bandwagon.
