Abstract

A wing-shape parametric analysis method yields design data to optimize variable-complexity aerodynamics of a high-speed civil transport aircraft wing. The method is cost effective as it combines conceptual and preliminary design methods. The method uses algebraic equations to estimate aerodynamic data such as aircraft weight and lift-induced drag.
