Abstract
- Italy's pharmaceutical industry is opposing government's new reimbursement list for drugs, claiming that the criteria for reclassification are dubious. The Italian government introduced the reclassification scheme in 1994 to reduce the country's drug expenses by 30%. However, Italy's industry representatives allege that the new list defies the EU price transparency directive because government failed to consult member companies on classification criteria.
