Iterative-improvement-based heuristics for adaptive scheduling of tasks sharing files on heterogeneous master-slave environments

The problem of scheduling independent but file-sharing tasks on heterogeneous master-slave platforms is investigated and a three-phase scheduling approach involving initial task assignment, refinement and execution ordering phases is proposed. The results show that the proposed three-phase scheduling approach works much better than the existing one.
