Characterization of the rho genes of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Salmonella typhimurium

The cloning and sequencing of the genomic domains enveloping the rho genes of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Salmonella typhimurium facilitate the analysis of the characteristic features of the rho gene. In vivo transcription assays in polar mutants of S. typhimurium and complementation assays of rho mutant of S. typhimurium and E. coli aid the detection of the role of the Rho factor of N. gonorrhoeae. N. gonorrhoeae rho transcript is characterized by using primer extension and northern blots experiments.
