Abstract

The Environmental Protection Agency's final rule concerning reformulated gasoline has petroleum refiners worried about the complexity of the regulation. The new regulations eliminate between 20-30% of all gasoline refined in the US, because its does not fit the complex model, and refiners have only one year, till Dec 1994, to correct the situation. Information is presented on compliance strategy selections a refiner may choose.<br />Refiners are in for a worse ride than they feared under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's final rule for reformulated gasoline.
