Fluid in French: a soft touch

Abstract: The French fashion picture for late 1993 was a soft, fluid look. Shoes to complement the clothes had a feminine silhouette. High heels are back, particularly in the form of the high-heeled instep-strapper or the similar high-heeled ankle-strapper. Very little of the clunky shoes that have been prevalent was evident in the latest fashion shows. Lace-up summer boots, slides, flat oxfords, T-strappers and espadrilles were popular.<br />CLAUDE MONTANA: Earthbound divas.
