Abstract: The nucleocapsid protein N and phosphoprotein P interact with each other in vivo, yielding a sensitive assay system that has helped in the mapping of the domains between the two proteins. The two-hybrid systems employed in the study of the specific interaction between the two proteins can also be used in other viral systems and in the study of the interaction between proteins involved in transcription and replication.
