Abstract
- A survey of several boys and girls, aged 12 to 18, reveals that factors such as sex, age, intelligence level and temperament contribute to their ability to cope and adjust to their surroundings during stressful events in adolescence. The relationships between individuals and their families and those with their peers vary significantly. Supportive relationships encourage adolescents while nagging associations discourage them. Males seek individuality and responsibility while females look for proximity and trust in a relationship.
