Abstract

An improved self-heterodyne method ultilizer a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) tunable laser and an optical fiber ring interferometer are described. Results reveal that the operation efficiency of the fiber ring interferometer is about 7dB higher than that of the conventional interferometer, which is important in increasing the S/N ratio of the measurement.
