Watchdogs or attack dogs? The role of the Russian courts and the Central Election Commission in the resolution of electoral disputes

Studies reveal that the Russian courts and the Central Election Commission, in electoral registration cases where incumbent politicians have a stake, are responsive to pressure from them. Results reveal that the findings are essential to the empirical assessment of the role of the courts in hybrid regimes.
