Abstract
- A study aims to characterize and compare the total energy expenditure (TEE) and core temperature responses in men and women working almost continuously for 54 hours in an outdoor environment while developing a substantial energy deficit. Results show that, for both men and women, total energy expenditures (TEE) were among the highest observed for a military field training exercise (FEX), and that TEE, when normalized or corrected to body mass and fat-free mass, and physical activity level were the same for both sexes.
