Abstract
- Tissue culture assay high-performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry were employed to prove the presence of tetrodotoxin (TTX) in sediment derived from Lake Suwa, Japan. A total of 17 TTX synthesizing bacteria from five genera were isolated from Lake Suwa and Pond Inokasira. TTX and TTX-synthesizing bacteria are also present in freshwater locations.
