Abstract

An experiment was conducted to demonstrate that M.Eco RII joins with azaC DNA in vivo and that there is no connection between the enzyme quantity and the influence of the drug on the cells, to prove the theory that strand interchange catalyzed by the Rec A protein in vitro is restricted by the M.Eco RII bound to DNA. This enzyme attaches to the azaC DNA in vivo, and this attachment takes place at the most decreased concentration of the drug. No connection between the enzyme quantity existing in the cell initially and sensitivity of the cell to aza cyd was seen, but sensitivity to aza Cyd was connected to the total ecoRII M structural gene.
