Abstract
- US Congress is examining whether the self regulation option granted to group purchasing organizations (GPOs) is effective or not. If Congress finds that GPOs have misused their concessions related to anti-kickback laws, new restrictions will be imposed on them. It may be recalled that GPOs were preventing some worthy medical devices companies from selling their products to hospitals.
