Dehydrogenative silane coupling on silicon surfaces via early transition metal catalysis

Abstract
- The feasibility of Si-Si bond formation directly on the surface is investigated to contrast with the Si-C and Si-O bond forming reactions. It is found that coupling of a molecular silane and a hydride-terminated silicon surface can be mediated by zirconocence complexes, aromatic silanes show higher incorporation than aliphatic silane.
